Accurate Heating & Cooling was started right here in Columbia just over 35 years ago by Clarence "Woody" Woodard. He built his company with lots of hard work and dedication. He was a "hands on" boss who worked right along with his crews, on the roof doing a flashing, in the shop making duct work, or in the attic running lines. He treated his customers fairly and built a good, solid reputation for Accurate Heating and Cooling over the 25 years he owned the business, earning it the reputation of the "sheet metal specialists".    

In 1999 Woody made the decision to retire and sold the business, turning the reins over to long time employee and right-hand man, Jim Gerhardt. Today you will find him hunting, fishing, trapping, or just enjoying his menagerie of animals on his mini-farm in Columbia.  Woody is also a huge Carl Edwards' fan, following Carl's career in NASCAR. Pictured above are Woody and granddaughter Alyssa feeding Joe the camel carrots as Sparky the miniature donkey tries to grab a snack too!  

Jim had been working for Woody for over 20 years when he bought the business, and, to this day Woody will tell you Jim was the best employee he ever had. Jim has taken what he learned from Woody's example and is also a "hands on" boss. You can still catch him out on jobs installing duct work or servicing an A/C unit.  And, don't be surprised if he answers the phone when you call, as he's known to do that quite often also. This gains him respect from not only those who work for him, but from his customers and colleagues as well. He truly knows this business inside and out and has kept Accurate Heating & Cooling one of the BEST heating & cooling businesses in Columbia, Boonville and surrounding areas for the 10+ years he has owned it and looks forward to many more strong years ahead.
